I am very new to Proxy servers- I want to install Squid Proxy on one of my VPS machines... However does this mean that I cannot use that machine for hosting websites? I.e. will that machine function only as a proxy, or can it function both for proxy purposes as well as for hosting websites?
And is there anything to keep in mind when installing a hosting control panel like Cpanel/DirectAdmin/Plesk/Webmin on a machine on which Squid proxy also has to be installed? I want to install a hosting control panel and squid on a machine running CentOS 6.

You can host web sites on the machine, but keep in mind that you have to proxy all web sites through Squid unless your web server runs on a different port than Squid or on a different IP.
