ServiceUptime dot com also provides a similar service.
I do agree though - free ones usually monitor website availability, which can bear no correlation to, say, the availability of a physical server.

Ask your host to proved you with detailed up time reports for there services we provide it to our customers free of charge
You can try host-tracker.com, they are pretty accurate. But depend on what plans you purchase it.
