I have a VPS and i am running a forum in there. But now i am running out of bandwidth and space so i want some separate web host to host some of my video files. (to download not stream)
If you allow i want to run a small HTML site there. But if only files still okay. My video files are around 40Mb each.
Looking for around 1GB of space and 100GB of bandwidth. Looking for a cheap place as possible.
Thanks.
Dedicated Servers Video Hosting9 Answers
As the size of videos(40 MB) is quite big, so I would recommend you to opt for a Dual Core Dedicated server with 2-4 GB RAM.
@mwaraitch, Shared plans don't offer guaranteed amount of RAM and Steaming sites are resource intensive and need good amount of RAM to function smoothly. If any user hosts a video site on Shared server, it might overload the server and cause problems to other clients hosted on the same server. So Hosting providers do not allow Video sites to be hosted on a Shared server.

Dedicated servers would be preferable than shared servers, as you can have a complete access and control on all you applications. Also with shared servers you have certain limitations. Hosting video files in dedicated servers lets you the space to add more videos and even to expand your website. You can also check out hioxindia.
I would suggest you to opt for a dedicated server. Considering your requirement of hosting video files, and bandwidth of 100 GB, a dedicated server will be a good option to opt for. A dedicated server will provide you with huge resources, good RAM, a good amount of bandwidth and other resources. You will have complete freedom to install third party applications on the server as the entire server will be dedicated to your use.

Yes you are absolutely right. For Video hosting dedicated server and vps hosting server are the best options. I think you should visit Solarvps.com at once for more. I am sure that you will definitely get best solutions.
Video hosting sites normally consume a lot of resources, require large amount of bandwidth so such sites are normally not preferred to be hosted on a shared hosting environment.
Shared hosting can do this as long as it does not disurb other users. A host might say ok only convert at this time so it is likely not to disturb other users.
