How do I get started with a VPS?
You can manage our VPS servers easily, from the order process to the initial configuration. Once you have signed up to your VPS solution, you can configure your hosting space directly from the OVHcloud Control Panel. You are the root user, so you get the highest level of control. This means you can configure your virtual machine to suit your business needs. Once you have set up your VPS, you can secure it and attach a domain name by configuring DNS zones, for example. You can then easily carry out your diagnostics and backups.

What is the difference between a VPS and a shared hosting plan?
On your VPS server, you have root access — also known as administrator access. This means you can configure and manage it as needed. With shared hosting, you do not need to manage the technical aspects of your hosting package. Using a VPS requires a higher level of technical knowledge, but both shared hosting plans and VPS servers can be used to host websites and web applications. Please also note that on a shared cloud hosting plan, the server’s hardware resources are divided between different users — therefore they are not guaranteed.
