Basic Administrative Tasks For MS SQL Database Server
If we want to keep server in top running conditions then we must have to perform regular maintenance from administrative levels. Each one has described as below:
The First maintenance task is to perform regular backups. Without a backup strategy there may a chance to loose the data. This task is includes taking backups, restoring backups and copying backups of databases as well as set database backup strategy.
Second, important administrative task is to check the error logs of the server and take necessary action on finding the details from logs.
Finally, last and most important task from technical perspective is maintaining index using DBCC and reconstructing indexes. Indexing is required to speed up access to the data. Without indexing, each query needs to perform table scans and read each and every record of the tables to any amount of data.
